# NEW: Student Registration Tab

## Learn about the redesigned Student Registration tabs, featuring an updated interface, improved data entry workflows, and new CALPADS field indicators to help streamline student registration and ensure reporting requirements are met.

- Many of the Student Registration pages have been reorganized into individual tabs. Each tab is also divided into clearly labeled sections. 
    - For example, the **Demographics** tab is organized into **Name**, **Birth & Personal Information**, **Contact Information**, **Workforce Investment Act**, and **Ethnicity**, making student information easier to locate and manage.
- Click **Show CALPADS Fields** at the top of any registration tab to display indicators for required and optional CALPADS-reportable fields.

- **Race Category Mapping Guide: [CALPADS: Race Category Mapping Guide](https://help.schoolpathways.com/knowledge/calpads-race-category-mapping-guide?hsLang=en)**
- At the top of **each** tab, you'll also find a **Created By** field that displays who created the student record, along with the date and time the record was created, as well as a **Last Modified field,** indicating which staff member was last to edit the record.

##### District ID

- The District ID page will now pop up with the same information and instructions regarding the District ID right on screen.
- It will also populate a list of possible matches for the student as before with an updated data table.

##### Address Tab

- The new **Addresses** tab provides a dedicated location for managing student addresses. At the top of the page, you can use the **Hide Historical Addresses** slider to show or hide previous addresses.

- You'll also notice the new **Action Bar** next to the current address, which is part of a consistent design being implemented across other pages, including the new **Applicant Summary** page.
  
    - Click the **pencil** icon to edit the address in a pop-up window without leaving the page, or click the **trash** icon to delete the address.
- The **Mailing Address** has also been separated from the Physical Address. If the mailing address is the same as the physical address, simply select **Make the mailing address the same as the physical one** to automatically copy the address information.

##### Previous Registration & Previous School

The **Previous Registration & Previous School** tab has also been updated to reflect the new user interface being implemented throughout the Student Information System (SIS). The redesigned layout features improved date entry fields, updated UI elements, and the same familiar pop-up calendar for selecting dates, making data entry faster and more intuitive.

##### Parent/ Guardian Information

The **Parent/Guardian** tab has also been updated to reflect the new user interface being implemented throughout the Student Information System (SIS).

- Add a new Parent Record by clicking the Green Task bar at the top of this tab.
- In each Parent, column, on the right hand side, **click in the edit icon**, to edit the record.

- This Page Includes, Name Entry, Relationship to the Student, Other Personal Information, Address Information, Contact Information, Work Information, and Military Information.
- Back on the original tab, click the trash can icon to Unlink the Parent Record from the Student.

- You can also easily select which is the 
    - Primary Parent,
    - Whether or not the parent lives with the Student
    - If this Parent should recieve Student Mailings
    - Hide them from Transcripts
    - Restrict Access to the Student's Portal

##### ED Level & Language & Survey

The Ed Level & Language Survey has also been updated to reflect the new user interface being implemented.

- In addition to the updated layout, this page now includes an **As of School Year** field at the top, indicating the school year for which the Education Level and Language Survey information is currently effective.

- Under **Parent Educational Level**, the drop-down menu now includes a **Do Not Report** option. Select this option if the parent's educational level should not be reported

##### DASS & APLUS

The **DASS** and **APLUS** tabs have also been updated. In addition to the updated layout and controls, each question now includes a **Not Applicable (N/A)** option, allowing you to indicate when a question does not apply to the student.

##### Housing Data Collection HDC

The **Housing Data Collection (HDC)** page has been updated and is now displaying more information directly on the screen to improve usability.

- Historical Housing Data Collection records can now be viewed and edited directly from the page by selecting **EDIT Historical HDC Data** in the right hand corner, eliminating the need to navigate away from the screen.

- The **Current Guidelines** section is now available as a convenient drop-down menu instead of a pop-up window.

- A Direct Certification is available right on screen, with a Last Modified date and time.

##### Accommodations & Release

- In addition to the updated layout in the Accommodations & Release, each question now includes a **Not Applicable (N/A)** option, allowing you to indicate when a question does not apply to the student.
