# Reports: Master Scheduler

## What is the Master Scheduler and what can it do?

The Master Scheduler lets you create and manage class schedules, then view assignments by student to detect missing periods, duplicate subject enrollments, and other scheduling conflicts. You can also drag and drop students to reassign them to the correct section.

## Navigation

**Reports \> Scheduler \> Master Scheduler**

A new student-based view of the classes the scheduler assigns is available when running the Master Scheduler process. This should help detect if students are missing a period, are in two sections of the same subject, and other issues. This view supports dragging and dropping to reassign to the proper section.

## How do you create a new schedule in the Master Scheduler?

1. Click **Create Schedule**.
2. Fill in the **name of the new schedule**, select the academic term type and the schoolyear, then **click next**.
3. Next choose **how many academic/break periods** you wish to put in the schedule, then choose start/finish times for all periods. Then **click next.**
4. On the confirmation page, click **Create Schedule**. You are redirected to the schedule editing homepage.

## How do you edit an existing schedule?

To base a new schedule on an existing one, use the **Copy Schedule** tab in the Master Scheduler interface. Follow these steps:

1. Go to the **Copy Schedule** tab.
2. Select the existing schedule you want to use as the basis for your changes.
3. Choose which schedule properties (such as name, academic term type, school year, and period configuration) you want to carry over.
4. Click **Copy Schedule** to create the updated schedule and proceed with your edits.
